We did alright, only wiped on Anub, then ran the weekly by killing Razor, flew down to Ony where our MT somehow died and turned to kill me and the other shadow priest. Here’s our convo until there was a wipe.

Between the Twins we took a break. I had something extremely important to take care of and had to run to take care of it. I was rushing a bit much and tripped on my way, dropped my phone. Then tripped on my mad dash back. It was fanstasticly funny.

I really like the new LFG Dungeon Finder, and Sugar has become my personal tank in my latest epic quest for a certain epic to drop from regular Pit of Saron. The bracers from there are just a side grade from my Naxx 25 bracers that just wont get upgraded! Its irritating, but these bracers are turning into the marrowstrike for my DK…Still wont ever drop when I’m on my DK. In fact, TOC was one of the random pug’s I healed Sugar on, and guess what dropped? Marrowstrike. Go figure.

First and foremost, your headset has to be a usb type.

Assuming you have everything plugged in, and the headset is set up and working on ventrilo. That is to say, Setup in Vent is set to the headset, and use directsound [] is selected.

In the task bar down by the clock, right-click and select Playback Devices. Right now, it should be defaulted to your headset. Change this to your computer speakers. JUST the playback. Recording still set to your headset. Ta DA!

Next question I can hear already being asked, is how to I get the vent speech to not go over the speakers but into the headset? In Ventrilo go to set up, then the Speech Tab, and the Output devices re-select it to be your headset. Good to go!

And on top of that, you all should check out Achievement Whore. thats a pretty good video. Had me singing along with it by the end, but then again, I’ll sing alone all day long!

Friday was spent mostly leveling my warlock to about 74, convinced Sugar too run me and Tony’s DK through a couple instances. We attempted to 2.5 man TOC, me on my priest healing/dpsing, Sugar tanking. Then when we wiped several times we tried to change it up, me dusting off Cadfall and tanking, her healing/dpsing. That didnt work either. Phase 3 of the black knight hurts.

After that I stayed up rediculously late chatting with Sugar while mining/herbing on Cadfall. I had attempted to continue leveling my lock, and was questing up at that weird little village above AN and at 10:30 server, there was, no joke, 6 people there questing. Camping the mobs. I gave it up for lost and went herbing/mining.

Then saturday rolls around, I get up at a bright and early 2 pm, brew coffee, watch Wall-E then log into the game. Have breakfast at about 5:30pm….But durring that time, leveled alittle…but mostly the fun thing that happened was standing outside of IF on Cadfall dueling Blood, Sugar and waiting for those pesky horde to res and attempt to eat at our tables. Yes I’m still bitter about that ass-raping I took in UC. Then while we chased 1 hordely type away, there rolls by a raid of Horde making way to the King. And in my expirence, IF is the only place alliance can be bothered to defend. Though, after killing some of the horde and them moving on, Cadfall and I went to Darnassus to see if any pesky horde were trying for the tables there. There was a DK I kept killing, and there was an elusive and deadly mage. Mostly sucked ass because being frost, nothing worked.

Sunday, leveled the lock some more. Got almost all the way through lvl 75 before logging off early, watching Dexter, and going to bed.

One thing though, I did spend some time (Oh yeah! Thats what I did for a bit on friday) running around starting zones mining ore to power level JC on the lock. Lock’s JC got to level about 45 before quitting because despite everything, I need a bunch more tigerseye and malachite. I really dont want to spend gold doing it, because I have less then 5k on all my characters and that severely bothers me. So I sold everything in a rage and stopped doing it. I’m going to regret that later, because I still want it. But I need to build money back up a bit before doing it. And I think I’ll even just but mats and hope it pays off later.

The other profession I am thinking about taking is alchemy. I figured with Tailoring/Ench on the priest, herb/mining on DK, and to further support my raiding needs, JC/Alchemy would be a good support.

Then again I’m open to suggestion.

Then Wednesday night, my guild wasnt raiding this week due to Thanksgiving, and a few ex-members of the guild along with a couple from this guild (they are all still good friends, I guess) decided to go for this again. Paper is an avid achievement hunter, so I joined this raid, and asked if they needed another heal or dps shaman? I was told “We have 4 shaman already, we dont need another” followed immediately with a trade spam of “LFM dps, tank, heals for Dedicated Few” Now I understand that if we were going for gear, that’d be one thing to have an overwhelming amount of shamans. But come on…ToC has been out for a while now, Naxx is a joke! And! He was willing to be either roll, why did it matter?! I knew then that I should have said “Uh..sorry, i’m out” But I felt obligated to go since it was guildies in the raid. Paper of course was like “cool, i’ll just go assasinate people.”

Then to continue on with the night, there were many other issues. All in all, it was actually a sucessful raid. Minimal amount of wiping. Though we were sort of going for the Immortal title like any raid trys, on the first boss we go to, Noth, one of the shamans (irony?) died instantly. I dont know what they did/didnt do but wow.

Then a bit later, there was a minor squabble in vent, someone giving someone else crap. Though one big thing I have to point out, it was X-male character giving Y-female character crap. X-male character didnt have a come back to Y-female and then said “You know what? Shut up, females are supposed to be seen, not heard.” Now I know they were joking, hell, I’m sure i’ve been apart of those types of jokes before but I almost quit right there. I stopped myself because the other 2 females besides Y-female didnt seem to have an issue. I dont know why it bothered me so much already. Maybe because I was already angry with them for stupidity? That was strike 2.

After that, I stayed in vent, but didnt wear my headset. If I were to actually get this stupid, elusive achievement, thats what I had to do. Finally, we’re at Thaddius, and we’d be moving onto the final quarter before Sapp/KT. This is the same roadblock i’ve ran into every time. Despite us being extremely overgeared for Naxx, we didnt have the DPS/No one knew how to do the —-Boss+++ Run to the Left strat. I’m sure I’ve explained to you all that this cuts 8 seconds of dps every polarity shift (yea I nerd-raged enough one night to actually test it) vs doing the L/90 degree strat. But whatever, I wasnt leading..hell I wasnt listening.

And again, road block. Every time 1 person left, durring the time it took for RL’s to find another, 2 more would leave. At this point it was going on 9 server. I convinced Sugar to come in on her rogue, and someone triggered the boss with a steam tank. Wouldnt you know it, despite them standing where they were at…you cant run out of it and will die from engrage no matter where you’re at? Finally the RL called it quits…That was 5 hours of Naxx-cruelty. And still no achievement. Hell, not even a new boss off the list. Luckily it isnt durring 1 raid lockout….but fuck. I hate that place.

5 hours that could have been spent doing anything else that was fun.

Excuses are like assholes, right? I know. Either way, with her suggestions, and a badge upgrade, and joining her guild’s 10 toc followed by 10 ony, I got a nice boost in dps. Btw, I’ve never been in and out of ToC and Ony so fast. I know thats how its SUPPOSED to be, but I had yet to see it that way. I was through both of those in 45mins. Pretty sweet. Now, if my original suspicion and theory on 3.3 dropping first or second week of December, with our changes to haste, i’ll be angry I changed a couple of my new(er) haste gems I had back to crit. Oh well!

Anyway, Sugar, Blood and I were attempting to get the horde towns portion of the cooking holiday done. The only town to give us any issues was Undercity, where I think every horde was hanging out in the court yard for this reason. Blood was playing his mage and had already gotten UC done earlier, so he attempted to act as decoy for me. Sugar was playing her rogue so she was mostly protected with the stealth, especially with our flashy decoy..and me? Well, I’m extremely squishy. I swear, in pvp, if someone looks at me, I’m instantly dead. How well did this work out? Ooooh, lets see…Blood rushes in and gets frost trapped right at the doorway, I blast in just inside of the court yard to see about 20 snake traps and die. Make the 15 mile run from the graveyard up by SM, res right on the chair but cant sit down, i’m stun locked by another 5 snake traps and frost trap. Sugar couldnt help laughing because she said I didnt even get health on her screen. Next time around, I was far enough in that I could got to the otherside of where I died, waited for both of them to res on the opposite side. Worked that time, and I even managed to get a hunter down to 50% before the rest of them turned and looked at me. Ended up spirit resurrecting and waiting for Blood and Sugar to come out.

The rest of the night was spent playing around with pvp (le gasp!). Now before you start wondering if I decided to work on my pvp-nubness, I didnt. We decided to go down to SW and return the favor to any of the horde trying to get the achievement. Well…that plan was foiled by the fact no horde were trying for it. I suspected it was because they were all defending UC. Suger wanted to find out how much a couple abilities hit for in different circumstances. She kept attacking Blood’s mage in varying defensiveness. I decided that her trying it out on my priest was just cruel and unusual punishment, and dusted off the ol’tank Cadfall. I figured with being over raid def capped would be close to having some resil in a dps spec. After that some pally decided to come and kick my ass. Amazingly with serious button-smashing and complete luck, I killed him despite him getting his bubble off. Now mind you, I think I had somewhere between 300-500hp, but still! And after that he had to duel me again until he killed me. I didnt try so hard the next time since I didnt want pvp any more. Winning 1 duel is an acomplishment that will be thought of with a happy feeling and a twinkle in my eye for many months to come. Hell, I might even conciter pvping with Cadfall now that he’s mostly getting ignored.
